Sound Sultan Is Dead
Nigeria’s Musical Legend, Olarenwaju Abdul-Ganiu Fasasi popularly known as Sound Sultan is dead.
The Veteran musical artiste died in the early hours of Sunday, July 11, 2021,a rare form of non Hodgkin,lymphoma,ANGIOIMMUNOBLASTIC T-CELL LYMPHOMA (AITL), which is a group of related malignancies (cancers) that affect the lymphatic system (lymphomas).
His death was announced by his Family in a statement with a plea to the general public to respect their privacy.
The statement read in part:
“We his family will appreciate the utmost privacy as we come to grips with this tragic loss”
Sound Sultan released lots of hit songs including “Jagbajantis” which was released in 2000, “Kokose”, “Motherland”, “Natural something” .
After independently releasing other singles and featuring in hit songs of other artists, he was signed by Kennis Music before partnering with his elder brother Dare Fasasi, also known as “Baba Dee” to start Naija Ninjas, a parent organization for a record label, production outfit and clothing line after his contract with Kennis Music expired in 2007.
He was 44 years of age. he is survived by his wife, three children and his siblings.
