The Good, The Bad, The Ugly Of COVID-19 Lockdown

The compulsory lockdown in Nigeria due to COVID-19 is necessary, according to the presdency to prevent further spread of the ravaging pandemic.
President Muhammadu Buhari has issued a directive for the lockdown of two state Ogun, Lagos and The Federal Capital, Abujs respectively for 14 days.
The lockdown has brought in its wake the good, the bad and the ugly and many families are counting their blessings or loss within a few days.
A larger percentage may have renewed bond between their spouses. A few of them have discovered shocking secrets of their spouses that may end either in a breakup or divorce.
While providence smiled on some and may experience happy endings. Some families recently discovered that their spouses are either gay or bisexual.
Gtechnews investigation also uncovered that a few percentage of men are no longer happy with their spouse but only play along.
Prior to the coronavirus pandemic induced lockdown, many children hardly see their fathers at home because they would have long gone to work before they wake up and return home when they have gone to bed and a few who spoke to Gtechnews said staying at home with their parents are blessings in disguise.
Semilore Thomas, a Nigerian born US citizen disclosed that those who may find it extremely difficult during the lockdown are girlfriends, who may be unable to reach out to their married boyfriends because they have to play the saints at home with their wives.
Meanwhile, ten year old, Tosan Orugbo said he was happy that his father now stayed at home to assist his mother.
“I have never seen my daddy in the kitchen. Daddy surprised everyone. I am so happy seeing daddy at home and in the kitchen”.
Kimberly Kadiri, a stay at home mom said, the 14 days lockdown should not end in a hurry because it’s like she just got married to her husband of five years and the Disco company should not tamper with power to further strengthen family bonding.
However, Modupe Johnson got the shock of her life when she discovered that her boyfriend was gay.
According to her, they met online, they have been talking for a while, she thought him to be a great guy because he never demanded for cybersex and one or two times that she went to his place, he never bothered her about sex.
She didn’t think much about that, only thought it was cool due to his christian background.
She said, ” But I was living in a fool’s paradise. Somehow, I do not know why I became inquisitive when I stayed with him for close to two days at a stretch. My intuition asked me to bypass his phone password .I can easily do that as a techy person. It was like watching a horror movie. It was like a dream to discover that he is gay. He told me , so what? When I confronted him. You can imagine?”she said.
Another person who was worst hit by the lockdown secret but who pleaded anonymity because getting his name out would tarnish his person, said he just discovered that his wife of 10 years is actually bisexual.
Said he: “I cannot comprehend it, it looks like a fairy tale story. The worst part, she is a celebrated journalist. I recently just discovered this. I have not been around much because I am always travelling but on Tuesday morning, I got the shock of my life. What I saw in her gallery shook me to my bones. She didn’t deny it.The evidence are all there.
“I can’t live with that, she will be hearing from my lawyers soon”, he said.
While secrets, deceits and bonds will continue to unravel as the days go by, lack of electricity in homes may also create restlessness and anguish for more families.
